Thanks for the message about pin-point. We are working with them to halt mass
e-mail activities. In no way is Internet Direct affiliated or associated with th
is
practice, other than providing server space and e-mail accounts to them.

As the world's largest web host, we have customers using the Internet for a very

wide variety of tasks. Certainly, spamming is the most distasteful of these.
Pin-point has been informed that mass e-mail is in breech of their service
agreement with Internet Direct, and subsequent breeches will result in terminati
on
of their account.

Thanks for your concern.

Hello,

We have terminated the account of the sender of the mass mailing.
Unfortunately, I am sure someone will take his place.
We get one of these guys every month who get a pop account
dump a mass unsolicited mailing or use us as phony return address
for users who want to "unsubscibe" .

Good luck,

This is just a note to expound a little on what you've already seen in the
auto-reply.

Please apologize for the strange format, as I'm trying to prevent as much
spam to you as possible. That's why the messages are BCC'd.

The users in question have been terminated, and they'll not be bothering
you any further from here. AOL's legal department is handling the ituation
now, and they'll take it from here.

Regards,

Scott

This was actually a customer of a customer (which is unusual). In any
event, we've been in contact with our direct customer and they assure us
that crushnet.com is no longer a customer of theirs.

Thank you for submitting a report to abuse@vip.net

If this in regards to an email being sent to you regarding 5.9 cents a
minute long distance, then rest assured the problem has been fixed.

There is no user at this provider called Athi, therefor the reply to
address of Athi@vip.net is a forgery. The actuall Spammer came from
thegrid.net.

At 1312 on 03/19/97 I telephoned a representative at thegird.net and I
also contacted a representative at cerf.net (The provider the Spammer
was using to send the mail through). After informing them of the
situation I was called back at 1415 on 03/19/97 and informed that the
Spammer has had his account terminated.

If you wish to voice further concern, you may want to contact the
Spammer's provider at:

info@thegrid.net
customer.service@thegrid.net
technical.support@thegrid.net
gridsales@thegrid.net

805-781-6600
or
1-888-333-GRID

UPDATE
----

As of 1518 on 03/19 the Spammer in question has started using unlisys.net
as a mail relay.. That particular company is in Sweden and I am unable to
contact them.....

UPDATE
---

I have found the home number of the person responsible for
light-avenue.com it is 805-397-4600

You may and should phone that number and express your concerns!
